Nora Börding

Ich bin freiberufliche Portrait- und Reportagefotografin und lebe in Leipzig. Ich habe Fotografie in Berlin, Hannover und Aarhus. Ich arbeite in freien Langzeitprojekten und Auftragsarbeiten. Da ich mir sehr bewusst bin über Machtverhältnisse, Othering und koloniale oder hierarschiche Blickwinkel in der Fotografie, ist mir ein kooperatives Arbeiten mit meinen Protagonist:innen sehr wichtig.

Ich versuche anhand individueller Erfahrungen, den Blick auf die gesellschaftliche größere Relevanz zu lenken. Seit einem Jahr beschäftige ich mich journalistisch mit der Stigmatisierung von Trauer in unserer Gesellschaft und der Kriminalisierung von Geflüchteten an europäischen Außengrenzen.

I am a freelance portrait and reportage photographer and live in Leipzig. I have studied photography in Berlin, Hanover and Aarhus. I work in freelance long-term projects and commissioned work. As I am very aware of power relations, othering and colonial or hierarchical perspectives in photography, working cooperatively with my protagonists is very important to me.

I try to use individual experiences to draw attention to the greater social relevance. For the past year, I have been working as a journalist on the stigmatization of grief in our society and the criminalization of people on the move at Europe's external borders.
